Perry Mason Mystery : The Case of the Counterfeit Eye by Erle Stanley Gardner

Rating : 7 / 10

I loved this one. Mason was back where he belongs – the courtroom. I certainly don’t like Mason doing detective work on his own. After all, he’s got Paul Drake to do that. Although, the climax wasn’t as good as lot of others (with Mason getting a false witness to get the truth out), I enjoyed the book overall. There was total chaos in the whole book but when Mason brought the truth out in the end, everything suddenly felt very straight indeed.
But there are a few things which sometimes feel very disturbing while reading any of the Mason mysteries. Perry Mason seems to go to any length to save his clients (jeopardizing his career or even putting his own life in danger). This fact is not so applicable in the real world and such books are only meant to be read by kids who are to be taught the importance of truth.
